Anorexia Nervosa



Anorexia Nervosa. Nice name ya? Haha.. any parent intent to give their newborn baby with this name? Hope not. Anorexia Nervosa is friend of Bulimia. The two almost same...with just slighly different. Both are eating disorder. If Anorexcs person refuse to eat certain food, make excuses to avoid meals and exercise exsessively, Bulimics binge-eat, then purge by vomitting or using laxatives. Which one better? None! I guess..!


Anorexia nervosa is an eating disorder characterized by refusal to maintain a healthy body weight and an obsessive fear of gaining weight, often coupled with a distorted self image which may be maintained by various cognitive biases.


Someone suffering from anorexia go to extremes reach and maintain a dangerously low body weight. But no matter how much weight is lost or how thin they become, it is never enough. Themore the scale dips, the more obsessed they become with food, dieting and weight loss.


Here are some 5 signs of anorexia

1. Dieting despite being thin.

2. Obsession with calories, fat and nutrition.

3. Pretending to eat or lying about eating.

4. Preoccupation with food.

5. Strange or secretive food ritual, such as refuse to eat around others or in public places or they may eat in rigid, ritualistic ways, like chewing food 32times or using a specific plate.


Effect of anorexia nervosa

1. Lost of menstrual periods or in pre-teen delayed onset of puberty.

2. Lackof energy, weakness

3. feeling cold all the time

4. Dry and yellowish skin

5. Constipation and abdominal pain

6. Restlessness and insomania

7. Dizziness, fainting and headaches

8. Growth of fine hair all over the bosy and face
